NFL Week 13 Picks

Titans vs. Colts

Pick: Titans +1

Mike Vrabel as a home underdog is always a side I want to be on. His Titans are currently 4-7 and outside of the playoff race, but I believe he can rally the troops to a win in this divisional matchup. Tennessee is a very solid 4-1 at home this season. I think the Titans will play solid defense today and really run the ball effectively with Derrick Henry and Tyjae Spears, something they were unable to do in their Week 5 matchup with the Colts. I see this as a 20-17 win for the Titans.

Eagles vs 49ers

Pick: Eagles +3

The Eagles continue to win by the skin of their teeth every week, but to me the disrespect has gone too far. To be underdogs at home as a 10-1 squad is ludicrous to me. The Eagles keep winning big games because Jalen Hurts always rises to the occasion in big games, their defense (particularly the front line) steps up in key situations, and they have playmakers in AJ Brown and Devonta Smith who can hit big plays when the offense is stalling. Furthermore, their incredible ability to convert short yardage situations gives them a competitive advantage that is rare across the league. Sure, San Francisco is good, but I think the Birds can continue to play solid run defense and get enough pressure on Brock Purdy to make him uncomfortable. Josh Allen kept the Bills on the game against Philly last week by making some superb throws - I don't think Purdy is capable of doing so. I think we'll see Philly raise their level of play and be more explosive on offense today in an exciting 30-26 win.

Texans vs. Broncos

Pick: Broncos +3

This is a fun matchup of two unexpected 6-5 teams. I'm taking the Broncos here. As I've said, they found their recipe and they are sticking to it. The defense has a remarkable turnaround since their 70 point embarrassment in September. They're like the little brother who figured out how to play Madden and now beats the big brother regularly. Russell Wilson has played efficient, mistake free football and the offense is doing enough to win ballgames. For the Texans, as it always seems to be in cold world of football, they are coming back down to earth just as their hype was building. I think the absence of Dalton Schultz today is going to be tough for them today. I like Denver to win a tough one, 23-19.
